The Great "Racism" Circle Dance

You told us Ronald Reagan was a racist, because he appointed racists like Jeff Sessions (who sent a Klansman to death row and desegregated the schools in Alabama).

Then you told us that George H. W. Bush was a racist.
Then you told us that Bob Dole was a racist.
Then you told us that George W. Bush was a racist.
Then you told us that John McCain was a racist.
Then you told us that Mitt Romney was a racist.

Then you told us that Donald Trump was REALLY a racist, that this time you really meant it, unlike all those other times when you were just crying wolf.  And this time you could prove it, because he appointed racists like Jeff Sessions (re-elected in 2014 with 97% of the vote, in a state that is 27% African American).

Then you wonder why we have tuned you out.

  1. Umm, Sessions ran unopposed. Who exactly were the African Americans supposed to vote for?

He was one of two candidates in 50 years to be denied a Federal judgeship by the Senate in 1986. The reasons were basically that he appeared to be a racist. A few tidbits:
"Figures, who is black, said Sessions told him to be careful about what he said ''to white folks” after Figures got into a heated argument with a white colleague. And Figures testified Sessions called him “boy” on multiple occasions.

Figures also said Sessions had joked about the Ku Klux Klan, saying he thought its members were “okay, until he learned that they smoked marijuana.”

A Justice Department lawyer, J. Gerald Hebert, testified that Sessions had described the NAACP and the American Civil Liberties Union as “un-American” and “Communist-inspired.”

As he has his whole career, Sessions vigorously denied that he had or has any racial prejudice. Though he didn't specifically deny making any of the comments ascribed to him, Sessions told the Senate committee he had been quoted out of context."

Here is a balanced summary of the whole hearing.

So I have provided some evidence that he is racist. You have claimed he is not, but provided no evidence.

BTW, I googled the following, and recorded the number of hits.
George Bush racist, 1M (that ought to cover both)
    Bob Dole racist, 0.27M
    John McCain racist, 0.64M
    Mitt Romney racist 0.7M

Donald Trump racist, 60M hits, or about 100 times more than any of the others. So can you tell me when, and how loudly people cried wolf about previous candidates? Cuz it looks like maybe it was a few whispers here and there.

Here's a few reasons why Trump might be racist.
